Boil Water Advisory Now Lifted

We are pleased to announce that the boil water advisory that was issued on December 16, 2014 by Saskatchewan Water Security Agency is now lifted.

The notice was delivered on Friday, September 22, 2017 and stated:

“The Water Security Agency, in consultation with the Sunrise Health Region, are advising that the “Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory”(PDWA) issued by the Water Security Agency for the Wroxton’s potable water system be rescinded as of 3:00 am Friday, September 22, 2017.

The rescinding of the PDWA was based upon information provided by your community, which included:

  • The turbidity in the system is within regulatory requirements;
  • Chlorine residuals throughout the WTP and distribution system are within regulatory requirements; and
  • Bacteriological sampling is within regulatory limits.”

Getting off the water advisory was the number one goal of the RM’s newly elected Reeve, Roy Derworiz.  This process involved a lot of people doing their part in making this situation better.

We want to thank all those who assisted in these efforts particularly Dennis Hunt, Town of Saltcoats Water Treatment Operator; Derrick Hoehn, Sr. Environment Project Management with Water Security Agency; Scott and Linda Fuller, our new operators; local trades, council and staff.
