LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Council of the Rural Municipality of Calder No. 241 consists of the reeve and five division councilors. 

COUNCIL MEETINGS:

Council meetings are set for the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 9:00 am.  Where Council meeting dates are changed, a public notice will be made on the website and at the municipal office.  All meetings are open to the public.  Any person wishing to attend may do so but must not interrupt proceedings.

REGISTERING TO BE A DELEGATE:

Any person wish to address or discuss an issue with Council may do so by registering to be a delegate by contacting the municipal administrator at the RM municipal office or by calling 1-306-742-4233.  Requests for delegations must be received by noon the day prior and are subject to time allotments.

COUNCIL PROCEDURES:

COUNCIL ELECTIONS:

Council is elected every four years with the reeve and odd numbered division councilors being elected in 2016 and every four years thereafter and even numbered division councilors elected in 2018 and every four years thereafter. To learn more about municipal elections, go to the Saskatchewan Website .  In the RM of Calder No. 241, Bylaw #2016-2 was passed to require any person running for municipal office to submit a criminal record check along with their nomination form.
